Okay, Prove me Wrong!

I am a passionate idealist with strong views. But I can be convinced that I am wrong. So help me out. I posted a poll on the most beautiful 40 foot, or so, sailboats. I started with the Concordia Yawl, the Hinkley Bermuda 40 and, the modern choice, the Farr 40 (since Kristian mentioned it). So cast your vote or put in you own choice. Let me see the boats that will be the future classics. I am willing to eat crow on this, I just need some proof.

Update: Photos and links to our poll boats.

why don't you give us links to these boats? not everyone will know all three, though I know how I'll vote.

Had to vote for the B-40 that looks EXACTLY like the one we had back in the 90's.

Well, out of the 3 on your page, I really like the B40, since it looks a lot like an S&S50 I have a love/hate relationship with (love looking at it and sailing it, but tough to work on and race hard)

To give another modern counterpoint, one of my favorite looking modern boats is the Synergy1000 (http://www.sailinganarchy.com/general/2003/Images/synergy1.jpg ), and it's good for our purposes here since many of its design features are polar opposites (reverse sheer, transom, almost plumb bow, raky cabin top) to what we traditionally consider beautiful in yachts. To my eye though, it really pulls it off, and makes it's own good looks. To me, boats like this also manage to look "right" in the same way my Shields does; it just looks fast, and makes you want to take it out and see what it can do!

Again, understand that I think old boats like our Shields are just about perfect to look at, but beautiful boats are still being deisnged, and they will be classics someday.
