Bill, this is a beautiful boat and a very handsome blog. I like the feel of it. I'd like to share it with my readers at 70.8%. Please email me , zekeur@netzero.net, as I couldn't find any contact info on your blog. I have a few articles waiting in the wings, ahead of you, but I'd like to contact you as soon as is convenient for you. May want to ask some questions. Thanks

Your list alludes to a deficiency with the rowing system on Bolero. Did I miss those comments? What's the scoop?

Hey Britton,

Yep there is. Sort of what I like to call a "sum of the part" problem. I puchased a great two piece 9 ft aluminum river rafting oar and the matching oar sleeve and oar keepers. With a serperate order I puchased the oar locks and a deck mounted oar socket. Perfet solution so I thought. Turns out that the oar lock that fits my river rafting oar is larger that the deck mount oar socket.

The oar also looks like it will interere pretty nicely with the top of the coaming.

So yes I have a problem or two. My first thought is to meander over to a friends house and see if he wants a reason to play with his lathe. He may be able to turn down my existing stout oar locks and also build a shoulder so they stand just a bit higher. Then all my parts would fit and I would gain a bit of clearance for the coaming.

I will add a post when I get it all figured out.

Cheers, Bill
